King Edward VII Picnic Site - Uniondale
The Western Cape - Picnic Spots
The King Edward VII picnic site was and still is one of my favorites. This handful of secluded picnic spots with benches, tables and braai (fire) facilities in the heart of the forest are worth a visit. In the midst of this area you can see one of the biggest and oldest trees in the forest, an Outeniqua Yellow wood, over 650 years old, standing 40m high and with a bole circumference of 7m this is a giant! There is also a short 450m circular forest walk here. Following a wooden boardwalk,...

The very first vineyard planted in South Africa was when the settlers from Europe arrived.
